1. How to make an envelope from a sheet of A4 paper: method 1

In this method, a rhombus is first made from sheet A4, and then the envelope is folded and glued together. The size of the resulting envelope is 18x12 cm.

You will need:

- a sheet of paper A4;

- ruler;

- a pencil;

- paper scissors;

- glue or adhesive tape.

Step 1

Lay the sheet horizontally. Measure horizontally from the top left and bottom right to 7.2 cm. Draw lines to form a rhombus.

Step 2

Cut corners.

Step 3

Connect the corners of the rhombus with criss-cross lines to find the middle.

Step 4

Bend the side corners to the center.

Step 5

Bend the bottom corner up as shown in the photo. If there is a flat metal ruler, you can bend it with it - it’s more convenient.

Step 6

Glue the envelope with glue or tape along the two lower diagonal lines. Fold the top valve down. Done.

2. How to make an envelope from a sheet of paper A4: method 2

In this way, an envelope is made based on a rectangle. The size of the finished envelope is 18x14 cm, it turns out a little higher than in the previous master class.

You will need:

- a sheet of paper A4;

- ruler;

- a pencil;

- paper scissors;

- glue or adhesive tape.

Step 1

Lay the sheet horizontally. From the left edge, measure 16 cm along the upper and lower edges and draw a vertical line.

Step 2

Fold the sheet along the drawn line.

Step 3

Draw a line along the ruler where one edge of the folded sheet protrudes from the other.

Step 4

Draw lines along the short sides of the resulting rectangle, 1.5 cm from the edges. Bend the edges as shown in the photo.

Step 5

Expand the sheet and cut off the edges, along the fold lines, as shown in the photo.

Turn the resulting valves inward. Cut the edges of the upper flap diagonally, as shown in the photo.

Step 6

Lubricate the valves with glue and glue the envelope. Done.

3. How to make an envelope with rounded corners

This is a kind of envelope from the first master class, but a bit complicated. In this case, the envelope is obtained with beautiful rounded corners. In this way, you can make a template that can then be used for different envelopes from cardboard or paper. These envelopes will be good, for example, for a holiday card or invitation. The envelope is obtained in the size of 17x12 cm.

You will need:

- a sheet of paper A4;

- thin cardboard or colored paper;

- a ruler (or better, a square);

- a pencil;

- paper scissors;

- glue or adhesive tape.

Step 1

Place the sheet vertically. Using the angle, set aside twice 6.5 cm from the bottom edge. Do the same from the left edge. Draw two lines and draw a horizontal rectangle of 17x12 cm.

Step 2

Find and mark the middle of each side of the rectangle.

Step 3

From the marks in the middle of each side, draw 6.5 cm lines up, to the sides, and down, respectively (in the photo these lines are drawn with a blue felt-tip pen).

Step 4

From the top point, set aside 0.5 cm to the right and left (see notes with a purple felt-tip pen). Repeat with side dots.

From the bottom point, lay 3 cm to the right and left.

From 4 corners set aside 1 cm up and to the side, as shown in the photo (purple felt-tip pen).

If you connect all the dots, you should get a figure drawn with an orange felt-tip pen.

Step 5

Cut out the pattern. Now it can be used to make different envelopes.

Just circle it on the inside of paper or cardboard, cut it out ...

... fold in 4 lines ...

... glue - and you're done!

4. How to make an envelope for money or for writing: templates for printing

To present a gift in monetary terms, it is good to use a beautiful envelope. Envelope for money just do it yourself. Choose the paper you like. Select envelope format, vertical or horizontal. Print the desired template. Cut it, fold it along the marked lines and glue it. Templates for A4 sheets can be downloaded here. By the way, a horizontal envelope is also suitable for writing.
