To sew a sweatshirt with a raglan sleeve with your own hands, you will need two types of knitwear, threads, an overlock and only one hour of free time!

This master class is even for beginner needlewomen. For a sweatshirt with raglan sleeves, you don’t have to build a pattern: it's easy to sew it! Pay attention to two points.

First: in order not to miss the size, it is better to figure out the width and length of the sweatshirt and its sleeves according to the model you have that suits you (a sweatshirt, sweatshirt, a thin sweater or a loose T-shirt with long sleeves). Please note that in this master class, the result is a fairly small sweatshirt, and for the sake of fidelity, adhere to your measurements.

The second one. This model is made of knitwear, which is best sewed on an overlock. If you do not have an overlock, you can complete all seams with a sewing machine. How to do it - read our master class.

So you will need:

- knitted fabric (a great option is a footer, soft but strong knitwear);

- more elastic knitwear for decoration (for example, in elastic band);

- tailor's scissors;

- an overlock or sewing machine and thread;

- tape measure;

- pins.

We sew a summer dress without a pattern: a simple workshop

Work sequence:

1. Fold the fabric and cut into parts: the basis of the sweatshirt and future sleeves.

2. Putting the sleeve detail folded in half onto the base detail of the sweatshirt, we form a raglan.

3. Fold the base in half lengthwise and symmetrically cut the armhole on the other side. We do the same with the second sleeve.

4. From the finishing knitwear we cut out the cuffs, measuring the desired width right across the arm.

5. Narrow the detail of the sleeve, focusing on the width of the cuff part + 2 cm.

6. Stitch the seams of the sleeves, then the side seams of the base.

7. Chipped future seams with pins, we sew in sleeves.

8. Trim the neck and remove the extra length of the sweatshirt and sleeves.

9. We decorate the sleeves with cuffs, with the same finishing knit - the neck and bottom of the sweatshirt.
