On the evening of September 19, the finals of the national dance battle of the Red Bull Beat Battle took place at the A2 club in St. Petersburg.
This year, each team had a chance not only to present their style and show their level of training in the first round under the name "visiting card", but also to express themselves as creatively as possible in the final round. The guys worked on the second number together with the XO studio, led by DJ Hobot, an ex-member of the Casta group, thanks to whom a unique video installation was created for each team. With the help of graphic sketches, which were the background of the performances, the dancers managed to convey their character and storyline, which caused incredible delight among the assembled Petersburgers and guests of the cultural capital.
The judges were not easy to make their choice, they had to evaluate the concept of the performance, technique, synchronism, artistry, costumes and music. The prepared numbers, in turn, were very versatile: the SCARYFACEEEZ team had a mystical thriller, U-13 prepared a number in which they depicted human fears driving the main character crazy, and the girls from the Tumbler team reflected an eccentric person who would like to be a soloist in the choir of the Palace of Culture. Nevertheless, the judges made their difficult choices.
The winners of the dance battle were the P.L.U.R. (PEACE, LOVE, UNITY, RESPECT) - 1st place. In their dance, the guys revealed the sincerity of a man who wears masks daily.
2nd place went to Jack's Garret, who showed the struggle of some creatures living in a mechanical world with robot birds.
And finally 3rd place for the dance of friendship of peoples, the brotherhood of the Caucasus and Russia occupied Kavkazdance.
By winning the competition, teams automatically secured their place in the finals of next year!
Red bull beat battle first took place in Russia a year ago: dance groups of various styles and directions met on the same stage in the struggle for the recognition of spectators and judges. This exciting performance attracted more than a thousand people in Moscow, and its unusual format received a lot of positive reviews both among the audience and among the participants, spurring interest not only in the fashionable trends of modern urban culture, but also in classical, folklore schools.
