It has long been known that a woman, going shopping, will necessarily put a larger bag in a small handbag - in case she wants to buy something else very necessary ...

But with our bag you don’t have to do this - leaving your home, you can fold it in half, and in the store, if necessary, expand it to its full extent.
YOU WILL NEED 80 cm thick colorful cotton fabric 140 cm wide; 10 cm cotton fabric (we have it in polka dots) 140 cm wide or 1.30 m of finished cotton oblique inlay, in finished form 2.5 cm wide; 60 cm of luggage tape, 2.5 cm wide; 2 m oblique inlay for edging seam allowances on the inside of the bag; suitable needle for the sewing machine and suitable thread for sewing.

CUT From colorful fabric, cut out 2 rectangles of size. 75 x 60 cm for bag details and size 65 x 10 cm for the lower handles. Cut on the square shaded in the corners in the diagram 4 square size. 9 x 9 cm = stitched bottom of the bag.
From a polka-dot fabric, cut a strip 5 cm wide over the entire width of the fabric and iron a long cut to the wrong side, 1 cm wide.
1 cm wide is already included in all dimensions.

LOWER HANDLES Iron the long sections of the lower handles to the inside, approx. Approx. 2.5 cm. Iron the handles half the width and grind the edges to the edge (= handles 2.5 cm wide). Sew the second edge of the pens to the edge.
Iron the upper sections of both parts of the bag by 30 cm to the inside, mark the location of the lower parts of the handles. Lay the handles on the parts of the bag so that the top edge lies on the fold. Poke the handles on the parts of the bag, while marking the actual handle in the middle at a distance of 3 cm (1a). Stitch the handles to the edge on both sides to a width of 22 cm. Fasten the ends of the stitching by sewing the square with the diagonals (1b).
SEWING BAGS Stitch both parts of the bag face-to-face, grind the side seams and the bottom seam of the bag, while combining and chopping off the start of the lower handles.
Seam allowances for greater strength with a zigzag.
Sew the bottom of the bag, chop off the side seams and the bottom seam (2). Stitch seams and overcast allowances.
Cut the luggage tape in half. Pull both ends of the tape at a distance of 22 cm from the side seams so that the handles protrude 2 cm above the edges of the bag. Chop inside the bag and along the top edge.
Sew fabric strips or slanting inlay for the top edge of the bag, stitch around the inner edge (3). Iron the strip on the face and sew to the edge. Then stitch the top edge of the bag to the edge. Additionally secure the seams of the beginning and end of the grind of the luggage tape by stitching squares with diagonals.

Extra tip:
Internal seams can be edged with a slanting inlay, and the bag will look more accurately, and allowances will not crumble.
Translation to the bag pattern design:
Taschen- Vorder- und Ruckseite, sowie die unteren Griffe - Front and back of the bag and lower handles
