“From haute couture”, “rushing, and porte”, “resort”, “when foul” - completely incomprehensible words! But if you sew and follow the fashion, for you they should become "native".

Let's start from the very top: aerobatics in the fashion world - Nwent fashion in Paris Haute couture (haute couture, translated as "high fashion", "high sewing"). These Weeks are held twice a year: in January (SS - spring / summer) and in July (Fall - autumn / winter). The collections are primarily displayed here by members of the High Fashion House Syndicate (The Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture). This French syndicate was founded by English fashion designer Charles Frederick Worth in the mid-18th century,
"Reputation" collections consist of handmade models (not less than 70%, but often 100%) of the highest quality, including exclusive fabrics, finishes, jewelry and accessories. Created by leading couturiers (designers) with world-famous names: the most successful fashion brands set the main trends in international fashion. As a rule, these are models for a narrow circle of fashion aristocrats, for whom a couture dress worth more than $ 100 thousand is a regular purchase.
At least 25 models should be presented in each couture collection; it is impossible to miss a show at High Fashion Week. Fashion houses such as Chanel, Dior, Christian Lacroix, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, Emanuel Ungaro open the seasons. In addition to these Houses, the corresponding members of the Paris Haute Couture Association (those Houses that meet all the requirements of the shows but are located outside Paris, such as Armani, Versace, Valentino, Valentin Yudashkin) and invited members (Houses that create models in High Fashion style, but do not fully meet the requirements of the Syndicate, and therefore are simply called "couture").

Collections
Pret-a-porter (Ready-to-Wear, "ready-to-sell clothes", "mass fashion", previously - confection, "ready-made dresses"), as the name implies, are designed for a wider range of fashionistas. They are shown at other Fashion Weeks, also held twice a year, in the spring (in March) and in the fall (in October) in London, Milan, New York, Berlin, Barcelona, Moscow, etc. After the shows, they are sold in boutiques, Fashion houses, department stores. By the way, the name "collection of mass fashion" is not accidental - it is from here that trends most often take root in the famous street style - street fashion, thanks to the Internet.
The first pret collection, while the port was shown in 1966 by Yves Saint Laurent, convinced that haute couture clothes did not meet the needs of the masses and would soon cease to exist. The great couturier was only partially right: the haute couture shows continued with varying success, while the rushing shows, while the port, became the podium for countless young designers. At the same time, the shows are rushing, and the port is attracting a lot more viewers and attract more attention in the press and on the Internet. And fashion brands get much more profit from such collections - after all, this collection is cheaper not only in terms of material costs, there is not much manual work, but the cut is made according to standard patterns.
Among the rushing collections, there is a pret-a-porter de lux category in the port - these are more expensive, branded models, a prerequisite for creating such a collection is that the designer has a monobrand boutique. Just pret-a-porter collections can sell their products through multi-brand boutiques (Zara, Mango, H&M, TopShop).

Off-season collections - cruise and foul. Cruise (resort) collections (cruise, resort) are shown in May-July, by the end of autumn their models are already on sale. Usually, there are fewer models in cruise collections than in haute couture and pret collections, but in the port. These are clothes made of lightweight fabrics for relaxation, most often summer: swimwear, beach ensembles, evening and cocktail dresses, warm clothes for shopping or casual. A simpler cut, lack of fanciful details, the color scheme is more monochrome and matches the color scheme of autumn. Perfect mod for those.who goes to the resort in winter and wants to sew or buy something "fresh". Cruise collections are not always shown on the catwalks, they can go directly to stores and boutiques.
The first cruise collections appeared in the 20s of the last century, thanks to the fashion for resorts. Coco Chanel, Jean Patou, Elsa Schiaparelli showed vests, snow-white trousers, shorts, knitwear, berets. In the 90s, the Renaissance era began at cruise collections: young travelers often crossed the ocean in search of entertainment. Light chiffon and silk dresses made up the basis of the wardrobe, which they took with them on cruises. Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel in those years created magnificent cruise collections. Now the fashion for such collections is spreading among designers more widely and covers a wide variety of brands. And this is not surprising, because today many people can afford to travel to some hot exotic country in winter. Yves Saint Laurent in 2006 introduced the first cruise collection for men.

Foul Collections (pre-fall, "pre-fall", "pilot", "pre-sale") are never displayed on the catwalks and are presented only in catalogs. Such collections go on sale in June, between the spring-summer and autumn-winter collections, and are an announcement of what will be presented in the main collections of the brand. As a rule, they declared the most practical and everyday things.
