Currently, you can purchase any zipper depending on the type of clothing, the necessary strength of the fastener and its appearance.

But suppose you have tied a jacket and want to sew a detachable zipper on it - and ... you cannot find the zipper of the required length in the store.
Very simple: buy a zipper a little longer than required, and shorten it yourself.
There are lightning with metal and plastic cloves. The length of detachable zippers is 30–35 and 40–80 cm with a step (width of the clasp-cloves) of 5 cm.

Description of work

Step 1: measure the length

Accurately measure the length of the fastener for the product and set aside the desired length on the braid of the zipper in the upward direction from the lower end of the zipper. Put tags.
Then proceed depending on the material from which the zipper teeth are made.

Step 3: remove the upper limiters:

Atmetal zipper carefully remove the upper stops, remove them and put on both sides of the zipper.

Step 3: remove excess cloves

Remove the upper unnecessary cloves with small nippers, finishing work on approx. 0.5 cm below the mark.

Step 4: Put on the Limiters

Slide the zipped upper stops onto the zipper braids and press them firmly.

Step 2: remove the upper stops

Atzippers with plastic cloves remove the upper limiters and the required number of cloves with small nippers.

Step 3: Make Bindings

Run with the remaining upper cloves by volumetric fastening with a strong thread.

Attention Very thin plastic zippers have a spiral instead of teeth. In this case:

Step 2: trim the top of the braid

Trim the top ends with a zipper tape, leaving 2 cm allowances.

Step 3: seize seam allowances

Grab these allowances in the seams or tuck them down obliquely.
