You will need:

- material for repair;

- scissors, spreader;

- crayon and ruler;

- sewing machine and thread;

- iron.

Work sequence:

1. If rivets are installed at the top of the side seams, remove them.

2. Open a few centimeters of the seam holding the belt over the side seams.

3. Mark a cut line exactly above each side seam and cut the belt.

4. Measure along each side seam from above 17−20 cm and spread the seams to the marks.

5. Build a pattern of details to expand the jeans. We need two identical isosceles triangles. The short side of the triangle is half the length by which you need to extend the jeans belt.Each of the long sides of the triangle is equal to the length by which you have seated the side seams (17−20 cm). Cut two parts from fabric selected for repair.

6. Stitch the triangles into the side seams. Process the seams and iron.

7. Stitch the seams.

8. Mark 2 belt insert parts. The length of each is equal to half the length by which you want to expand the belt. The width of each part is equal to the width of the belt x2. Do not forget the seam allowances.

9. Extend the belt by stitching the parts into it. Sew the parts first on the short sides, then sew the belt from the wrong side, sew the seam last, sewing the front part of the belt.

10. It remains to iron the place of repair - and you're done.
