Sports elements in clothes are very relevant. They give the product a peculiar highlight, can reduce the degree of glamor and make the image more harmonious.
On the example of a silk dress, model 110 A from Burda 8/2018, we will consider how to make bright decorative ribbons with half rings with your own hands.

You will need:
- rep tape 1.25–1.30–1.35–1.40–1.45 m wide 2 cm (the length of the tape depends on your sewing project);
- 4 half rings 2.5 cm wide;
- needle and thread for sewing;
- tailor's scissors;
- tailor pins

Step 1
From the tape cut 4 segments with a length of 17.5−18−18.5−19−19−19.5 cm.
Step 2
Pass two parts (= top) each through the jumpers 2 half rings, chop off the ends (Fig. 1).
Thread the other parts (= lower) through the half rings, as shown in Figures 2 and 3. Chop off the ends of the tape segments.
Step 3
At a distance of 1.5 cm above the pockets, draw lines for the seams of the valve stitching. Place ribbons with half rings on the bodice of the shelves, sweep the ends of the lower ribbons in the middle of the drawn lines of the seams for attaching the valves, sweep the ends of the upper ribbons in the middle of the upper sections of the shelves.

Step 4
Run flap pockets as instructed.
Stitching sections of each valve to the shelf bodice at a distance of 1.5 cm above the pocket, fixing the ends of the lower tape, the valve is directed upwards.
Cut off the seam allowance of the valve and the ends of the tape to a width of 5 mm.
Iron the valve down and stitch at a distance of 7 mm from the seam.
