How to save your favorite jeans: we put patches in "uncomfortable" places

Work sequence:

1. Spread the bartack at the bottom of the zipper. Remove the threads.

2. Open the zipper. From the inside, spread the seam with which half of the zipper is sewn to the stitched part of the jeans. Do not touch the finishing stitch. From above and below, cut a half of the zipper under the root, without evaporating its top and bottom.

3. Flush out the other half of the zipper, this time breaking open the factory finishing seam. Do not evaporate the upper and lower edges of the zipper halves, but cut them to the root. Remove all threads from open joints.

4. Attach the zipper in place with a flap and mark the desired length with chalk or soap.

5. Now the lightning needs to be cut off in a certain way (see photo). The edges of the cut is better to be scorched, for example, with a lighter.

6. Sew on the cut end of the clasp to lock the end of the zipper closed.

7. Open the prepared zipper. After wrapping the ends of the loose braid back and away from the fastener, put the braid in place with a flap, fasten and sew a zipper on one side (see photo). Having finished the seam to the middle, move the slider up, put in place the lower corner of the free braid and finish the seam by making a tie at the end. One side of the zipper remains not sewn.

8. Fasten jeans, straighten them and put cardboard inside. With pins, chop the layers of fabric along the zipper teeth from the side where it is not sewn.

9. Unfasten the button, turn the jeans over and pin the braid of zipper to the fabric, as shown in the photo. Remove the pins from the outside (leave inside).

10. Fold the tip of the braid and pin it with a pin.

11. Place the machine needle in the left position. Select a stitch size of 1-1.5 mm. Sew the second part of the zipper in the same way as you did with the first. The wrapped tip of the tape can be sewn in additional.

12. With a small zigzag, fasten in place of the old one. Done.
